"If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land." [2 Chronicles 7:14]Now, I cannot speculate why a man chose this particular intersection to walk silently with these words emblazoned on his white poster board for every passerby that day to see. What I do know is that these words, straight out of the Bible has been on my heart and mind for quite a while. Back on the National Day of Prayer, this scripture was the theme of our gathering at work. In the aftermath of recent back-to-back tragedies both here in America and abroad, I am sure I am not the only one who made that scripture verse my Facebook status. But it is a word directly from God to encourage us and remind us that he is still present, even in our despair.
As I begin today to pray for each of the world's countries and territories over the next two months, this is my ultimate desire: that no matter what part of the faith journey you are on, that you would find true peace. This world will not get easier, nor safer; but God will hear us and give us peace that heals and gives us the strength to move forward.
May God hear from heaven as he promises, and may we seek to continue to live a life that honors God, and loves others.
Today's Countries/Territories: Afghanistan, Albania, Algeria, American Samoa, Andorra, Angola, Anguilla, Antigua & Barbuda, Antartica (no flag), and Argentina.
